How to add subtitles to your videos

For video lessons, it is important to add captions or subtitles for students to easily follow the content of the videos.

You can add a VTT caption file to make your video more accessible. Lots of people use captions to take courses if they are available, even if they understand the language.

For example, for courses in English, there are a lot of students that understand English well, but still prefer to have captions to help them to follow along more easily.

Step 1: Create a video lesson

The first step when it comes to adding subtitles is to create a video lesson for your course.

Kindly follow the steps in this link to create a video lesson on your platform

Step 2: Add a Caption to your video

You can add different captions files for different languages.

If your captions file is in another format other than the VTT format, you will need to convert it.

To do this, kindly log in to your account => click courses => edit the video course => lessons => scroll down and click the upload VTT closed captions button => upload the VTT file => save changes.

You may follow the steps in this link to create a VTT file from scratch and this link to convert your ready-made file into a VTT file
