Custom Domain Activation - Error checking SSL Certificates

After activating your domain name on your website on OnlineCourseHost.com, you may want to start the process again because you mistakenly deleted one of the records you added and the domain no longer loads your courses.

The first step would be to reset your custom domain name. To do this, kindly login to your website => click Admin => Settings => Domain Name => and click Reset Domain.

You can refer to this link for more information on how to reset your custom domain name.

After resetting your custom domain name, the mistake course creators make is not deleting the two CNAME records they previously added in their DNS Manager for the domain name.

Thus, when you try to activate the domain name again and click “Check Certificate” in Step 2, you will get an error that says “Error checking SSL certificate: CNAMEAlreadyExists: One or more aliases specified for the distribution includes an incorrectly configured DNS record that points to another CloudFront distribution. You must update the DNS record to correct the problem.”

OnlineCourseHost.com makes use of Amazon for the SSL Certificates, and Amazon does not activate two SSL Certificates for one domain name.

Not deleting the first records, and trying to add another record for the same domain name to Amazon means you want to activate two SSL for the domain name; hence, the error.

To fix this error, then, you need to delete those records, wait for some minutes, and go back to your platform to click Check Certificate.

Note: Course creators who have previously used Amazon for their domain names, before coming to OnlineCourseHost.com, will experience this error as well (inasmuch as Amazon recognizes its records on the domain name).
