Managing a Question Bank for your Assessments
Question banks allow you to store, organize, and reuse your assessment questions in one central place.
Instead of creating questions from scratch each time, you can build a structured library and easily add them to any test or quiz.
This not only saves time but also helps maintain consistency across different assessments. You can also tag the questions so that you can populate them across various knowledge groups.
To create your question bank, log in to your website, click Admin => scroll down the side panel, and click Question Bank. Here, you can either import your questions or create them afresh.
Create Questions
To create your questions, click the Create Question button and select your question type. There are 7 types of questions under the assessments, and these questions are automatically graded by the platform when your students submit their assessments.
- Text Options: This is a general multiple-choice question where students have to select one correct answer.
- Image Options: This is also a multiple-choice question where students need to select the correct image as an answer.
- True/False: As the name implies, your students just have two options under this question - true or false.
- Dropdown: This is the same as the text option, but the answers to a question are arranged in a drop-down, so students have to open it to pick the correct answer.
- Match: Here, students are presented with many questions and answers, and they need to match the correct answer to the correct question.
- Ordering: Here, students are asked to rearrange the answers to a question.
- Fill in the Blanks: Here, students' abilities to recall key concepts are tested, as they need to write out the answers to the question on their own. They have no options to pick from.
More Information
- You cannot generate questions under the question bank with the AI, as the AI can only generate questions with an assessment title and description.
- You can preview and add tags to all the questions you add to your question bank.
- You can add hints to the answers of all the assessment types except the drop-down, match, and ordering assessments.
Import Questions
If you have already created questions outside the platform, you can import them with CSV or EXCEL files. To get started, click Import Questions in your question bank => and download the template.
After uploading your assessment questions according to the template, go back to that screen and pick an option between CSV and EXCEL => grab the file from your computer => click Upload Questions.
On the next page, decide if you want to add all the questions in the sheet or select some, preview them, tag them, and proceed with your import.
When you are done setting up, your imported questions will automatically show up under your question bank.
