How to create SCORM courses on OnlineCourseHost.com
SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a set of technical standards that ensures e-learning content can be easily shared across different Learning Management Systems (LMS). If you're creating online courses, packaging your content as a SCORM course ensures broad compatibility and consistent tracking of learner progress.
In this tutorial, we will be walking through the process of creating a SCORM course in your course website.
Step 1: Create your SCORM File
The first step would be to create your SCORM course as a zip file. You will need to upload your course lessons, assignments, and quizzes outside the platform and format them in a zip file.
Note that only ZIP files are allowed for SCORM uploads.
Step 2: Create your SCORM Course
Log in to your website, click Courses => Create New Course => select the Import SCORM Course option, and click Next.
On the next page, insert your Course Title, as you would for a normal course, or have the AI Assistant suggest titles for you. Afterward, insert your Course Description and click Create Course.
Click Edit on the course draft, and click Upload SCORM Package.
Note that your SCORM file must be in a zip file, and it should typically contain a single course.
When you click the Upload SCORM Package button, it will open up files on your computer where you can select your desired file. After making your choice, click Upload SCORM Package to start the process.
You can also use the Cancel button to stop the process if you want to use another file entirely. Depending on the size of your file, your SCORM upload process should just take a few minutes.
Here is what you get when your file has been successfully uploaded. You can decide to upload a new version of the SCORM file here as well.
Afterward, move on to the next sessions of your course edit page, as you would a normal course, and upload your course image, description, author information, price, etc.
When you are done, you can then move on to the Publishing tab to publish your course.
Step 3: SCORM Access and Course Player
Access to SCORM courses is the same as normal courses. They are purchased as one-time payments or part of a subscription. You can also give your students access from the Manage Students screen.
The course player of a SCORM course is different, though. It displays as seen below, and you can use the:
=> Get Certificate button to download your certificate when you are done with the course.
=> Full Screen button to expand the course player.
=> Back to Course button to go back to the course sales page.
Note: Just like a normal course, your students need to complete the SCORM course before they can get their certificates.
