AI Student Assistant

The AI Student Assistant has been created as a companion for your students in their online learning journey. Whether they need help understanding a concept, brainstorming ideas for assignments, or improving their writing, this AI-powered tool will support them well.

To get started, login to your website, click Admin => scroll down to AI Settings => scroll down to the AI student Assistant, click Settings.

Note: The AI Assistant comes with its own model and temperature, so either you are using OpenAI or the platform's default AI Assistant, your AI Student Assistant's configuration will be based on its own default settings.

AI Student Assistant Settings

After clicking Settings, a page will be opened for you to configure the behavior of the AI Student Assistant, which is based on ChatGPT.

Enable AI Settings

Click the Enable button on the page to turn on your AI Settings.

Personality Prompt

Here, you can model your AI Assistant after any character. Whatever character you put in this box will determine your AI Assistant's personality, and how it will behave.

Configuration Prompt

Here, you can add other recommendations to your AI Assistant's behavior. For example, how you want it to respond to prompts, and reply to your students.

Customize Look and Feel

Assistant Image and Chat Icon

Here, you can upload your AI Assistant image, and icon. The size of the image should not be more than 250x250px, while the size of the icon should not be more than 50px.

Welcome Messages

These are the messages your students will see on their end, when they want to interact with the AI Student Assistant.

Sample Questions

These are examples of questions you can add to your AI Student Assistant page, so that your students can get an overview of what to ask the AI Assistant. The AI Assistant comes with three default sample questions, but when you upload yours, they will override the default questions.

You can also choose to hide these questions, if you do not want to put out any samples.

Afterward, click Save.

How can my students use my AI Student Assistant?

The AI Student Assistant is only visible to your students in their course player. To view it, login to your website, click Courses => View Course => Play the Course => and click AI Assistant.

Your students can click any of the sample questions to get answers, or type in their own questions to the box. They can also reset the chat, to start all over or expand/collapse the AI Assistant screen as they wish.

Additional Information

• If you do not fill out any section of the settings page, your AI Assistant will function with the default settings.
• You do not need OpenAI to use the AI Student Assistant, as the AI has its own configuration settings.
• The AI will not assist your students with answers to quizzes and assignments.

• The AI Assistant will reply to your students in whatever language the question is sent in, regardless of the language of the platform or course.

Can I disable the AI Student Assistant?

Yes, you can disable the AI Student Assistant. To do this, login to your website, click Admin => scroll down to AI Settings => under the AI student Assistant, click Settings => Disable the button => scroll down, and click Save.
