The OnlineCourse.Host.com Affiliate Program feature is designed to allow course creators to partner with their students to promote and sell their courses via social media platforms, email, in-person events and other methods.
The way that this works is that the students will receive a commission on every successful sale. These students are called affiliates, as they are more or less the brand ambassadors of your online school.
Through the affiliate program, the course creators get visibility, and their courses can gain organic reach at reduced marketing costs, when compared to alternatives like paid ads or other more traditional marketing approaches.
This is a win-win collaboration for both you and your students, and this is why affiliate programs are popular and widely used by course creators.
Below is a step-by-step guide on how to make use of the affiliate program as a course creator.
Step 1: Enable the Affiliate Program
To do this, kindly login to your account => click Admin => on your left-hand side, click Your Affiliate program => and Activate Your Affiliate Program.
Step 2: Fill in your affiliate information
After you activate your affiliate program, you'll need to fill in the necessary information to get it up and running. The information needed is:
- Affiliate Program Name: This is the title of your Affiliate Program.
- Commission Percentage: This is the percentage of the course price that goes to your affiliate after a successful sale.
- Cookie Window: This can be seen as the expiration delay of a link click. Imagine you set the window for 30 days. If someone clicks on a link and makes a purchase in the first 30 days after the click, the affiliate will get the corresponding commission. Notice that if the purchase is a subscription, the commission will still be paid recurrently even after 30 days. So if you are an affiliate and get someone to purchase a subscription, you will get your commission while the subscription remains active, which could be years.
- Program Description: For the benefit of your students who do not know how affiliate programs work, this description is used to explain how things work.
- Welcome Message: Whatever you input into this box will be sent as an email to every affiliate that signs up for your program.
Please note that you can use the AI feature to write out your program name, program description, and welcome message.
After filling in this information, you can then scroll down the page to click Save Changes. After saving your settings, kindly scroll up and click Back.
What can I do on my Affiliate Program dashboard?
On your affiliate program dashboard, you can do the following:
- Manage your commissions and revenue.
- Activate/Deactivate the affiliate program.
- Customize the program cookie window and commission percentage for each affiliate by clicking Settings in front of each affiliate's name.
- Manage the payouts that are due and paid.
- Export a CSV of all unpaid commissions for PayPal payout.
- Mark commissions as paid.
- Manage your affiliates.
- View details of an affiliate’s commission.
- Edit your affiliate program details.
